What is a custom Driving Lens?

It is a prescription lens system selected and calculated for the wearer’s RX, fitting data, frame and driving-related visual tasks. Depending on need, it may use a single vision or progressive Freeform design.

Can a Driving Lens eliminate headlight glare?

No. A quality anti-reflective treatment can reduce reflections from the lens surfaces, but it cannot eliminate external headlight brightness, windshield reflections, rain effects or glare caused by ocular conditions.

Are polarized lenses suitable for night driving?

Dark polarized lenses reduce light transmission and are not intended for night driving. They are generally used in daylight to reduce reflected glare from wet roads and other horizontal surfaces.

Can polarized lenses affect vehicle displays?

Yes. Some LCD or digital displays may look darker, uneven or difficult to read at particular viewing angles. Display compatibility should be checked before ordering.

Do photochromic lenses become dark inside a car?

Many photochromic products rely on UV exposure, while windshields block much of that UV, so activation may be limited. Confirm whether the selected product is designed for in-car activation.

Can the lens be used for everyday wear?

A clear option may be suitable for everyday use when the prescription and design match the wearer. Polarized gray options are task-specific sun lenses and should not be used at night.

Finished-lens verification

The Heritage laboratory checks the submitted prescription and supported design parameters on real equipment. Temporary external fitting marks are removed after verification and are not permanent optical zones.

Clinical and safety limits

Driving lenses and AR coatings cannot guarantee safer driving or eliminate external headlight brightness. Persistent glare, halos or reduced night vision require professional eye examination.
