Freeform Calculation and Real Lens Inspection

The selected Office Active, Office Relax or Office Flex design is calculated for the submitted prescription, ADD, measured working distances, monocular PD, fitting height and frame data. A real lensmeter is used during laboratory inspection. Corridor choice and field distribution depend on the selected design and complete order data; they should not be promised from a generic 1 m, 2 m or 4 m label.

OptoCalc verified design reference: select the Office design from the required near, intermediate and farther indoor viewing range. The fitting values below are design-specific.

The prescribed dynamic power and available working range depend on the complete addition, selected design and intended task and are confirmed during RX review.

Choose by actual working distance

The 1 m version emphasizes reading and paperwork; the 2 m version balances screens with short indoor communication; the 4 m version extends useful indoor viewing for larger workspaces. A special distance may be reviewed when supported.

Office lenses are task-specific

They prioritize near and intermediate work by reducing long-distance correction. They are not intended for driving or other activities that require dependable sharp distance vision.

Corridor and frame review

Corridor options are design-specific. Prescription, ADD, fitting height and frame depth must be checked together before production.

  1. Submit the complete RX: include right and left prescription values and ADD.
  2. Define the workplace: provide reading, monitor and farthest required indoor distances.
  3. Add fitting and frame data: send monocular PD, fitting height, frame measurements or trace.
  4. Select the lens system: confirm office version, material, treatment and finishing.
  5. Laboratory review: Heritage confirms compatibility and requests missing information before calculation.
What is an office lens?

It is an occupational progressive lens that prioritizes near and intermediate tasks such as reading, screen work and indoor communication.

How is the Office Lens working range selected?

Use the wearer’s measured reading, monitor and farthest required indoor distances together with the complete RX, ADD, fitting height and frame data. Office design and supported range should be reviewed together rather than selected from a generic 1 m, 2 m or 4 m label alone.

Can an office lens be used for driving?

No. It intentionally reduces general distance correction to enlarge near and intermediate performance and is not intended for driving.

Can the monitor distance be customized?

Working-distance requirements can be submitted for review. Availability depends on the supported design, prescription, ADD, fitting and frame data.

Are the blue markings permanent zones?

No. They are temporary external Freeform fitting and inspection references. A finished clear office lens has no visible segment lines.

What information is required for an order?

Provide the complete R/L prescription and ADD, monocular PD, fitting height, frame dimensions or trace, working distances, material, treatment and finishing requirement.

What are the fitting references for Office Active, Relax and Flex?

Office Active supports 14, 16 and 18 mm corridors, a 4 mm fitting cross, 16–22 mm recommended and 15 mm minimum height, 1.5 mm inset and Chart C. Office Relax supports 9, 11 and 13 mm corridors, a 4 mm cross, 18 mm recommended and 17 mm minimum height, 1.5 mm inset and Chart C. Office Flex uses a 28 mm corridor, 0 mm cross, above 18 mm recommended and 17 mm minimum height, 1.5 mm inset and Chart D.

How can an optical business start an Office Lens program?

Send the target RX and ADD range, measured workspace distances, fitting and frame data, material, treatment, expected volume and destination. Start from free prescription samples after technical review, then confirm repeat ordering, packaging and any special engraving marks.

Custom Freeform Office Lenses for Optical Businesses

Heritage Optical Lab manufactures task-specific Office Lenses for optical retailers, laboratories, distributors and eyewear brands. Each order is reviewed from the complete RX and ADD, measured working distances, monocular PD, fitting height, frame data, material and treatment.

Choose the formal design before the corridor

Office Active, Office Relax and Office Flex use different corridor and fitting references. The correct selection begins with the workplace and order data; a generic 1 m, 2 m or 4 m marketing label should not be used as a substitute for technical design confirmation.

Not a distance-driving lens

Office Lenses prioritize near and intermediate occupational tasks and intentionally provide a design-dependent indoor range. They are not intended for driving or unrestricted general-distance use.

Freeform production and removable markings

The selected design is calculated for the submitted fitting and frame information. External ink markings are temporary fitting and inspection references and do not represent permanent visible zones.

RX supply support
