Why Choose Heritage Hydrophobic AR Coating Lenses?
Heritage Optical Lab manufactures made-to-order hydrophobic ar coating lenses for optical retailers, laboratories, distributors and eyewear brands.
Easy-Clean Surface Behavior
A compatible hydrophobic top coat supports water beading and easier cleaning but should not be presented as an automatic anti-fog guarantee.
Program Flexibility
Choose from supported clear, Bluecut, single vision, multifocal and high-index combinations subject to coating compatibility.
Order Data Reviewed
Submit complete RX, material, design, coating stack, reflectance or hydrophobic requirements, frame data and finishing. Availability and manufacturability are confirmed before production.
Practical B2B Supply
Start from free samples, then discuss repeat ordering, packaging and special engraving marks.
Who We Support
Hydrophobic AR Coating Lenses Options for Different Customer Needs
Select the appropriate hydrophobic ar coating lenses design, material, treatment and finishing from the prescription, frame, intended use and destination-market requirements.

Distance or near prescription lens with a compatible anti-reflective stack and hydrophobic easy-clean top coat.

Visible-segment multifocal lens with a compatible coating system, subject to material, segment and processing review.

Freeform distance, intermediate and near correction with compatible hard coat, AR layers and hydrophobic top coat.

Thinner 1.60/1.61, 1.67 or 1.74 options where compatible with the prescription, design and coating program.

Classic CR39 prescription lens with compatible hard coat, anti-reflective layers and hydrophobic top coat.

Compatible blue-filter lens system combined with hydrophobic AR coating after transmission and residual-color review.
Hydrophobic Property Verification
Water-droplet behavior and the agreed hydrophobic property can be evaluated on the selected finished lens system.
Hydrophobic performance supports water beading and easier cleaning, but it is not automatically an anti-fog claim.

SDC-Tested Low-Reflection Performance
An SDC Technologies technical service report recorded reflectance values of 0.45% and 0.58% for tested Heritage coating samples. The 0.45% figure is the lowest recorded sample result, not a fixed guarantee for every hydrophobic AR lens.
Actual reflectance, transmission and surface performance depend on the confirmed material, coating stack and test conditions.
Durability and Easy-Clean Inspection
The finished lens is inspected for coating appearance, visible defects, cleanability and the agreed durability criteria.
Abrasion resistance does not make a lens scratch proof; cleaning and handling instructions remain important.

Hydrophobic is not the same as anti-fog
A hydrophobic top coat encourages water to bead and can make the lens easier to wipe. It does not by itself prevent condensation or guarantee fog-free performance.
Anti-reflective performance is measurable
Residual reflectance, visual transmission and coating durability depend on the complete lens and coating system. Product claims should follow the agreed test method and specification, including ISO 8980-4 where applicable.
Scratch resistant does not mean scratch proof
A compatible hard coat can improve abrasion resistance, but care, cleaning method and handling still affect service life. Abrasion-resistant claims require suitable verification.
- Submit the complete RX: SPH, CYL, AXIS, ADD and prism/base where prescribed.
- Select design and material: single vision, bifocal, progressive or another supported design with the required index.
- Define the coating stack: hard coat, AR specification, hydrophobic top coat and any compatible blue-filter or photochromic requirement.
- Provide fitting and frame data: monocular PD, fitting height, frame measurements or trace, mounting type and required position-of-wear data.
- Confirm testing: residual reflectance, hydrophobic property, visual inspection, durability or abrasion criteria required for the order.
- Confirm commercial details: diameter, finishing, quantity, packaging, sample approval and destination market.
It is a spectacle lens with a compatible anti-reflective coating system and a hydrophobic top coat designed to reduce surface wetting and make the lens easier to clean.
No. Hydrophobic behavior concerns water wetting and beading. Fogging is condensation of very small droplets and requires separate product claims and verification.
No. A verified AR coating can reduce lens-surface reflections, but it does not remove every source of glare or guarantee a specific driving outcome.
No. A compatible hard coat can improve abrasion resistance, but no spectacle lens should be described as scratch proof. Proper cleaning and handling remain necessary.
Compatible options can include single vision, bifocal, Freeform progressive, CR39, selected high-index, polycarbonate, photochromic and blue-filter systems after technical review.
Send the complete RX, design, material/index, diameter, coating stack and test requirements, fitting and frame data, finishing method, quantity, packaging and destination market.
Custom Hydrophobic Anti-Reflective Coated Prescription Lenses
Heritage Optical Lab supplies hydrophobic AR coated lenses for optical laboratories, retailers, distributors and private-label partners. Programs can include single vision, bifocal, Freeform progressive, CR39, high-index, polycarbonate and compatible blue-filter or photochromic lenses.
Multilayer coating system
The complete specification can combine a material-compatible hard coat, anti-reflective layers and a hydrophobic easy-clean top coat. The final stack is selected together with the substrate, prescription, optical design and destination requirements.
Water beading and easier cleaning
A hydrophobic surface can encourage rounded water beads and reduce wetting, helping water and some surface contamination wipe away more easily. This is distinct from a verified anti-fog treatment.
Measured anti-reflective performance
AR performance is evaluated through the applicable reflectance, transmission, appearance and durability requirements. One generic reflection percentage should not be applied to every material and coating system.
Durability and handling
Coating performance depends on the complete layer system, cleaning method and use. Abrasion-resistant or easy-clean claims do not mean the lens is scratch proof, maintenance free or immune to coating wear.
