Why Choose Heritage Polarized Lenses?

Heritage Optical Lab manufactures made-to-order polarized lenses for optical retailers, laboratories, distributors and eyewear brands.

Daylight Reflection Control

A polarized filter can reduce reflected daylight glare from suitable horizontal surfaces; display compatibility and intended use should be reviewed.

Program Flexibility

Choose from supported gray, brown and other colors across single vision, multifocal, sports and high-index programs.

Order Data Reviewed

Submit complete RX, design, polarization color and transmission, material, frame data, coating and finishing. Availability and manufacturability are confirmed before production.

Practical B2B Supply

Start from free samples, then discuss repeat ordering, packaging and special engraving marks.

Who We Support

Optical RetailersFlexible RX supply for independent optical stores.
Optical LaboratoriesAdditional production capacity for selected programs.

Eyewear BrandsReviewed OEM, packaging and private-label requirements.

Polarized Lenses Options for Different Customer Needs

Select the appropriate polarized lenses design, material, treatment and finishing from the prescription, frame, intended use and destination-market requirements.

Deep-gray single vision polarized lens reducing water glare and revealing sharp lakeside detail
Single Vision Polarized Lens

Distance or near prescription sun lenses with a polarized filter for reflected daylight glare, subject to material and RX compatibility.

Deep-gray bifocal polarized lens resolving a nautical chart and marina detail
Bifocal Polarized Lens

Distance-and-near polarized sun lenses in supported segment styles, reviewed with ADD, segment height, PD and frame data.

Deep-gray Freeform progressive polarized lens resolving near intermediate and waterfront detail
Progressive Polarized Lens

Freeform distance, intermediate and near correction combined with a compatible polarized sun-lens system.

Deep-gray polarized daytime driving lens reducing reflected wet-road glare while preserving detail
Daytime Driving Polarized Lens

A daylight option that can reduce reflections from wet roads and horizontal surfaces. Dark polarized lenses are not intended for night driving.

Deep-gray polarized sports lens reducing water reflections while preserving kayak and shoreline detail
Sports Polarized Lens

Polarized daylight option for water and outdoor activities. Lens, frame and complete assembly must meet any applicable protective standard.

Thin high-index polarized prescription lens reducing waterfront glare while preserving sharp detail
High Index Polarized Lens

Supported thinner polarized material options for suitable prescriptions, subject to color, design, diameter and production compatibility.

Polarization Axis and Glare-Control Testing

The polarization orientation is checked with laboratory equipment so the filter axis matches the specified lens configuration.

Polarization can reduce directionally polarized reflected daylight glare, but it does not eliminate every type of glare.

Digital Display Compatibility

Some LCD and instrument displays can look darker, uneven or difficult to read through a polarized lens at certain orientations.

Include critical screen tasks with the order and test the finished eyewear at real viewing angles.

RX, Axis and Transmission Inspection

The laboratory checks prescription parameters, polarization orientation and applicable transmission requirements against the submitted order.

Protective performance applies only when the complete finished eyewear is tested and documented to the relevant standard.

Polarization targets reflected daylight glare

A polarized filter can reduce directionally polarized reflections from water, wet roads and other horizontal surfaces. It does not eliminate every source of glare.

Dark polarized lenses are for daytime use

The deep smoke-gray option shown reduces visible-light transmission and is not intended for night driving. Digital displays may also look darker or uneven at certain viewing angles.

Select the complete lens system

Prescription, design, material, frame, polarized color and transmission, coating, finishing method and destination-market requirements should be reviewed together.

  1. Submit the complete RX: right and left SPH, CYL, AXIS, ADD and prism/base when prescribed.
  2. Select the material and design: CR39, polycarbonate, 1.56, 1.60/1.61 or 1.67 with single vision, bifocal, progressive or another supported design.
  3. Provide fitting data: monocular PD, fitting height and position-of-wear data required by the design.
  4. Provide frame data: A, B, DBL, effective diameter, mounting type and preferably a frame trace.
  5. Specify the lens system: polarized color and transmission, material, compatible coating, finishing, quantity and destination.
  6. Describe the viewing task: include daylight use, water or road-glare priorities and any critical digital-display requirements.
What does a polarized lens do?

A polarized filter can reduce directionally polarized reflected daylight glare from water, wet roads and other horizontal surfaces. It does not eliminate every kind of glare.

Can polarized lenses include a prescription?

Yes. Compatible single vision, bifocal and Freeform progressive polarized designs can be produced after complete RX, fitting-data and frame review.

Are dark polarized lenses suitable for night driving?

No. Dark polarized lenses reduce visible-light transmission and are intended for daytime use, not night driving.

Can polarized lenses affect digital displays?

Yes. Some LCD and instrument displays can appear darker or uneven at certain viewing angles. Critical screen tasks should be tested with the finished eyewear.

Does a polarized lens automatically qualify as protective eyewear?

No. A polarized lens alone is not a safety certification. The complete finished eyewear must be tested and documented to any applicable protective standard.

What information is needed for a polarized lens order?

Send the complete RX, design, polarized color and transmission, material, diameter, fitting and frame data, coating, finishing method, quantity and destination market.

Custom Polarized Prescription Lenses for Optical Businesses

Heritage Optical Lab supplies custom polarized prescription lenses for laboratories, retailers, distributors and private-label partners. Supported programs can include single vision, bifocal and Freeform progressive designs in compatible materials and colors.

Reflected-glare control for daylight use

The polarized filter can reduce directionally polarized reflections from water, wet roads and other horizontal surfaces while preserving useful scene detail. It does not eliminate every kind of glare, and dark polarized lenses are not intended for night driving.

Deep neutral smoke-gray appearance

The images show a deep neutral smoke-gray polarized lens with clearly visible, crisp detail through the lens area. Actual transmission and color depend on the selected product and confirmed specification.

Prescription designs and display compatibility

Compatible single vision, bifocal and Freeform progressive designs can be reviewed against the submitted RX, fitting data and frame. Because polarized filters can make some displays appear darker or uneven at certain angles, critical screen tasks should be included with the order.

Factory axis, transmission and RX inspection

Supported designs are calculated from the submitted order, processed in the laboratory and checked for prescription, polarization orientation and applicable transmission requirements before release.

OEM, wholesale and laboratory supply

For samples, availability and quotation, send the prescription range, design, diameter, polarized color and transmission, fitting and frame data, coating, finishing method, expected quantity, packaging requirements and destination market.
