Freeform Single Vision Design and Production

Freeform single vision lenses are digitally surfaced from the submitted RX and selected design. When supported by the design, monocular PD, fitting height and position-of-wear data can be incorporated into the calculation.

This should not be confused with simply edging a standard finished lens. The laboratory confirms the required data and production route before manufacturing.

A stock lens is selected from a finished power range and edged to the frame. A custom Freeform single vision lens is digitally surfaced for the submitted prescription and selected design, with additional fitting data used where applicable.

Which data are required for a custom single vision order?

Provide R/L SPH, CYL and AXIS, prescribed prism/base information, monocular PD, frame measurements or trace, material/index, diameter, coating, tint and finishing requirement.

Can higher prescriptions be produced?
